The Power of Appreciation: What Our Team Is Grateful For
As the year winds down and the holiday season begins, November invites us to pause and reflect on what we’re grateful for—personally and professionally. At DCA Virtual Business Support (DCA), gratitude isn’t just seasonal. It’s a mindset that fuels our culture, strengthens relationships, and reminds us why we do what we do.
Whether it’s supporting clients through year-end transitions or showing up for each other when life gets busy, our team thrives on appreciation. This month, we’re sharing what gratitude looks like for some of our team members.
What the DCA Team Is Grateful For
At DCA, gratitude shows up in both big and small ways. We asked our team to share what they’re grateful for this holiday season. Here’s what they had to say:

“I’m thankful for DCA and our excellent team. It’s a joy knowing others have my back when I’m unavailable. And, of course, I’m grateful for my family—our annual sister road trip is always fun.
I keep a gratitude journal, which I started years ago when Oprah suggested writing five things you’re thankful for daily. I don’t write every day now, but I maintain the practice—especially when life feels challenging. It reminds me not to sweat the small stuff.
“I am grateful for my client, Annette Lee (Provider Insights). She makes my everyday work a joy! She is always appreciative of my work and my skills and is genuinely so fun to be around. I am so proud to be on her team and part of her success. Sometimes your clients become good friends, and that is definitely the case with Annette!”

“I am thankful for these gifts in my life: my family, friends, health, and career. Showing my gratitude is important to me, which is why I dedicate time to volunteer work in my community.
Professionally, I extend my appreciation to DCA for their continuous support of our education and for encouraging us to take advantage of professional development opportunities.”

“I’m incredibly grateful for my career and the flexibility that comes with being part of DCA. Because we can work from home, I have the freedom to prioritize family time, including traveling to New York for holidays, special moments, and visits with my grandma. Having a job that allows me to show up for the people I love is something I don’t take for granted. The balance I have between meaningful work and meaningful life is truly a privilege, and I’m so thankful for it every day.”

“What am I grateful for this season besides coffee and the mute button on Teams? My children—they keep life interesting and have taught me the art of muting mid-sentence.
I’m also thankful for learning opportunities at DCA. Continuing education isn’t just a perk—it’s my survival strategy. And a huge thanks to Denise for making all of this possible. You’re the reason I haven’t turned into a feral remote worker.”
Why Gratitude Matters
When you practice gratitude, your days are brighter. It’s like flipping on a light switch—suddenly, the ordinary feels extraordinary. Whether it’s a fragrant cup of coffee, a quiet moment with family, or the flexibility to work from home and still make it to grandma’s for the holidays, gratitude helps us savor the good in our personal lives.
But gratitude doesn’t stop at home, it belongs in the workplace too.
Gratitude isn’t just good for morale; it’s good for business. When leaders take time to recognize their teams, they foster trust, loyalty, and a sense of belonging. Appreciation helps people feel seen, valued, and motivated to do their best work. Whether it’s a quick thank-you message, a shoutout in a team meeting, or a thoughtful gesture during the holidays, showing gratitude builds stronger teams and better outcomes.
To Our Clients…
We couldn’t close without expressing heartfelt thanks to the clients who trust us to support their businesses. Your partnership means everything. Your trust allows our team to do meaningful work every day, and we’re grateful for the opportunity to help you grow, streamline, and succeed.
This season, we invite you to reflect on what you’re grateful for. Whether it’s your team, your clients, or the small wins that keep you going, gratitude is a powerful way to end the year with intention.
