Creating SEO Rich Blogs
In the world of online blogging, SEO rich blog posts are important in getting your content seen by your readers. SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization. It is how search engines prioritize their findings. To create SEO rich blogs, there are a few things you need to know. Consider the following steps below to help get you started with fabulous, keyword rich blogs.
Do your research. Before you even begin to write, it’s important to do your research. Using a keyword research tool, such as Ubersuggest or Semrush, can help you find related keywords to use throughout your post to help generate traffic. It’s important to use keywords intuitively based on content and not as keyword stuffing – which is when you add a bulk of keywords that aren’t always relevant. Search engines frown upon that, and you may even get penalized.
Utilize keywords. One you come up with a list of keywords, incorporate them in places such as:
A. Title
B. Headings and subheadings
C. Introductory sentence
D. Conclusion paragraph
E. Anchor text (hyperlinked text)
F. Title tags and meta descriptions
Use long-tail keywords. A long-tail keyword is a phrase someone would use in a search engine. For example, instead of searching for “pizza”, one might search “best NY style pizza near me”. If you’re not sure how someone would search for your business, ask your current clients how they found you.
Reference mentions with links. Search engines like backlinks to reference articles in your post. You may even get lucky and they will link back to you! For example, this article has great advice on creating SEO rich posts. See what we did there?
Optimize blog post images. Make sure your photo file name has keywords and fill in the alt text section. The search engines will pull that data in searches. However, if you picture still has a title of Img_0813_056, it will never be found.
