Facebook Creator Studio: Strategies for Beginners
With the plethora of tools and platforms, finding the best ways to manage your business’ social media accounts can be a bit overwhelming. As a business owner, should you shell out money for third-party social media management tools like Hootsuite or Buffer, or laboriously post to each individual account? While there’s a case to be made for investing in third-party management tools, if your business uses Facebook and Instagram, Meta’s Creator Studio can be a valuable tool in your marketing arsenal. In this blog, we’ll give a quick rundown of Creator Studio and provide you with strategies of how to best utilize it for your business.
What is Creator Studio?
Creator Studio is Meta’s free dashboard where you can manage your Facebook pages and Instagram accounts in one place. It helps businesses and creators market their services, skills, and products. The dashboard can be accessed via desktop and mobile app. Creator Studio performs most of the functions that the native Facebook and Instagram interfaces do, but with added capabilities for more control, convenience, and ease.
To use Creator Studio, here’s a few things you need to set up first.
- Facebook Business page
- Instagram Business account or Creator account.
To help you take full advantage of what Creator Studio can offer, here are some strategies you can implement in your marketing plan.
Crosspost Your Content
When using Creator Studio, you can cross-post between your Facebook pages and Instagram accounts. This means you can publish the same content to both accounts without needing to manually post to both platforms. Creator Studio specifically allows you to crosspost videos across multiple Facebook pages for increased exposure. Crossposting can save you time and headache when publishing posts.
Schedule Ahead of Time
Use Creator Studio to schedule all your Facebook and Instagram posts, with the exception of stories. (Creator Studio is currently unable to publish stories.) Creator Studio is currently the only way to schedule Instagram feed posts without a third-party tool and it’s the only way to schedule IGTV videos.
Note that once you have scheduled a post on Instagram, you cannot edit it in Creator Studio – you must edit the live post directly on Instagram.
Go Live
Going live is a great way to increase your reach. Live videos receive 6 times the engagement of normal videos and benefit more from the Facebook algorithm. Creator Studio provides control and flexibility while you’re live on Facebook and Instagram. You can schedule live videos, edit posts, and comment and interact with your audience all while on your desktop.
Increase Interaction with Creative Tools
In Creator Studio, you can add text, effects, filters, and stickers to your images or use sound collection (a library of royalty-free tracks and sounds) in your videos. Using these special tools will help make your posts more engaging and give you a leg up with the Facebook algorithm.
Optimize Content with Insights
Get to know your audience so you can optimize your content! By using the insights feature within Creator Studio, you can learn about your video performance and audience demographics on Facebook. Instagram insights include audience demographics and activities (including when followers are on Instagram). This information can help you understand when your audience is most active and likely to engage with your content.
Use Inbox+ to Streamline Engagement
Creator Studio has an inbox feature that allows you to manage all your Facebook and Instagram comments and messages in one central place. You’re also able to mark conversations as Done, Spam, Unread and Follow up to help you keep track of them. Streamlining this process will allow you to engage better with your audience!
Creator Studio can be a great tool if you want to grow your business and brand’s presence on Facebook and Instagram. While this is by no means the extent of Creator Studio’s capabilities, the strategies above are a good place to start! If you’re interested in creating a presence on social media but less inclined to DIY, you can always give us a call. We’re happy to help!
